Mrs. Knoettner, a graduate of the University of Delaware,
studied classical piano for ten years under Margaret Sutherland, Nancy Pressley
(U of DE) and Margaret Littell (Wilmington Music School). She also was honored to receive a Music Merit
Scholarship while attending the University
of Delaware in 1983 and
studied for one semester under David Brown.
She feels blessed to have studied under such excellent teachers and
feels that her teaching is a reflection of the excellent training she herself
received.
Mrs. Knoettner has performed as a worship leader at churches
in the area, and has performed piano and vocal solos at church, and retirement
homes. She is a gifted praise dancer,
professional speaker and published author of “Is Jesus Your Pearl?”.
Karen was First Runner Up to Miss Delaware in 1986, where she performed
“Malaguena” in the talent portion of the competition. She has played keyboard in the local
Christian band “Promise”, performing in various churches and being featured on
a Pennsylvania
television station.
Karen has extensive experience working with and teaching
children through Sunday School and Vacation
Bible School. She has also worked with autistic children
and children’ with Down’s Syndrome through a program called “Free to Be” at the
YMCA.
Teaching professionally for 11 years, Mrs. Knoettner enjoys
teaching beginner to intermediate students from ages 4 through adult. Her students perform on recital twice a year.
Mrs. Knoettner charges $25/half hour, payable monthly in
advance.
