INSTRUCTION
Louise Boyd is an experienced piano, keyboard and
voice instructor, with over 25 years teaching and performing experience. She studied theory under the tutelage of
Denis DiBlasio, arranger for the late Maynard Ferguson, and others. Ms. Boyd
received voice training under the tutelage of the renowned Marion Harvey, and
others. Styles include pop, blues,
traditional, folk, jazz, rock.
Her extensive performing experience in the northern
Delaware/southern Pennsylvania area includes the role of “in house” pianist at the
Doubletree Hotel, Wilmington, DE and has appeared under the stage name “Jazzy
Lady” at Border’s Café (Wilmington, DE).

Ms. Boyd accepts beginner and intermediate
students. Piano instruction includes ear
training, repertoire, music theory, and technique. Styles include: pop, classical, blues,
traditional, folk, jazz, rock, gospel. Voice
instruction includes Juilliard Music School technique methods, ear training and
repertoire guidance. Ms. Boyd specializes
in musical theatre and pop music.
Ms. Boyd’s past employment includes positions as
music instructor at Caruso’s Music (Brookhaven, PA), Media Music
(formerly Swarthmore Music in Swarthmore, PA), Shiloh Baptist Church, (Wilmington,
DE)
Ms. Boyd’s students have appeared on network
television, toured internationally, performed in Delaware All-State Chorus, and
in various theatre productions, including at the Kimmel Center, Phila., PA.
Ms. Boyd charges $25/half hour, payable monthly.
