Paul Pennell Jr. Guitar Instruction

| Paul has over 42 years experience as a guitarist. Starting as a pupil of the late Mr. Al Teoli, Musical Director for ABC Television, Paul thrived and began teaching guitar for Mr. Teoli by age 16. He is well versed in the MelBay and Berklee methods.
Paul's father, both a world class musician (The Dorsey Brothers and the Glenn Miller Band during World War II) and a Police Officer, had much influence. Paul followed his father's footsteps and became a Wilmington Police Officer. During that time, Paul wrote the "Stranger Danger" program songs, performing them in countless schools in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. This became the basis of the National Stranger Danger Program still in use today. During this time, Paul also performed live with his band, "Castle" in the tri state area and played on many radio commercials recorded in both Virtue and Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia.
"Like My Dad," Paul's first solo CD was released by Shark Tooth Records in 2002. Besides writing and production the CD, Paul played all the instruments, including Bass, Drums, and Keyboards. He continues to perform a solo acoustic show in country clubs as well as many different venues in DE and PA, also having toured the Midwest.
As a previous instructor for Accent Music, Paul prefers beginner to intermediate students. Minimum age for students is 10 years old. His fee is $25.00 per session, taken 4 lesson blocks in advance.
Paul has been a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) since 2001 and has had the distinction of playing with the Laura Branigan Band in Los Angeles. |

Chris Horne Guitar Instruction

| With 20 years of guitar playing experience and a B.A. in Commercial Music from Shenandoah Conservatory, Chris Horne has started his own private teaching studio -
Soulstrings Incorporated. The mission of Soulstrings Incorporated is to help people develop their creativity through learning to play the guitar. A multi-instrumentalist proficient in recording and engineering, Chris Horne’s vision expands far beyond his role as a “guitar instructor.” His lesson plans delve into the many dimensions of musicianship, and include teaching live performance, songwriting and recording. Chris developed this vision through his experiences in his home studio, his years as a guitar instructor at the Kirkwood Highway location of Accent Music, and through his work with area bands including Stygian Veil, This is Oblivion, and Shelton Davis. Chris’ former band, Latebloom, released their first CD entitled The Hovercraft Diaries.
Through the years, Chris has successfully enhanced the musical education of hundreds of students, and is always looking for more! Payment is $25.00 per 1/2 hour lesson and is taken 4 lesson blocks in advance, payed monthly. |

Gary Vernon Guitar Instructor

 Gary teaches at the Kirkwood Highway location of Accent Music, and has many years of teaching and playing experience. He has played with many different musicians at many different places all over the East Coast. Jazz is his specialty, but he will teach anything his students want to learn, including Metal, Rock, Blues, Pop, etc. He teaches theory and how to read music, as well as technique.
Gary has an age requirement of 9 years old, and he will teach any skill level, beginner to advanced.
Gary charges $22.00 per 1/2 hour lesson. Payment is taken 4 lesson blocks in advance, payed monthly. |

Michael Conn Guitar Instruction

| Michael has been teaching here at Accent Music for 7 years. He has been playing the guitar for over 10 years and has studied with multiple Guitar instructors including Gary Vernon (7 years) and Nick Bucci (2 years and currently). He includes both theory and practice into his instruction, and will teach students different styles of playing, such as Rock, Country, Metal, Classic Rock, and Classical. Michael has experience with music theory, music composition, lyric management, ear training, melody writing, and song writing. He has played in multiple places around the area and is willing to teach anyone aged 9 and up from beginner to advanced skill levels. |

Jamie Price Guitar and Ukulele Instruction

 Jaime mainly teaches at the Concord Pike location, but also offers instruction at the Kirkwood Highway location of Accent Music. He has over 10 years of teaching experience, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from the University of Delaware. He has played in rock bands, blues bands, funk bands, classical guitar ensembles, and jazz ensembles.
Jamie teaches all skill levels and has a student age limit of at least 10 years old. He charges $24.00 per 1/2 hour lesson at the Kirkwood Highway store, and $25.00 per 1/2 hour lesson at the Concord Pike store. Payment is taken 4 lesson blocks in advance, payed monthly. |

Chris Malinowski Guitar Instruction

 Gracefully thrown into teaching at the age of eleven by his father, Mal (owner of Newark’s Mal’s Music – 1979-2003), guitar instruction has been an integral piece of Chris Mal’s existence since 1981.
Each of Chris Mal’s students is given a similar lesson structure, which includes: technique exercises (both fingering and picking), chord studies (basic and advanced), scale work (primary, intermediate, and professional), MUSIC READING and THEORY (all of his students read or will read), genre studies (Rock, Blues, Metal, Jazz, Folk, Country, Avant-Garde, Classical – this is the student’s choice), improvisation and solo construction, and, ultimately, a guide through the process of crafting ORIGINAL MATERIAL, including vocal work and performance preparation.
Chris Mal’s lessons are given with a sense of humor and without condescension, as he views all of his students as equals and friends, with the idea that he possesses nothing, musically, that they don’t innately possess themselves. Chris Mal doesn’t believe in talent. He believes in DEDICATION. He aims to demystify the instrument for the student and to enable her/him to play comfortably and beyond, and, finally, to encourage the individual to honor her/his eccentricities regarding playing style and songwriting capability. Chris Mal teaches ALL AGES at the Kirkwood Highway location, without question.
Chris Mal holds a Bachelor of Science in Cinema from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he won both writing and filmmaking awards. When he is not teaching, he is crafting experimental films (see www.almsyousay.com), screenwriting, shooting still photographs, or running. He is the guitarist, singer, and main songwriter for the Avant-Garde Rock band, THE COLLINGWOOD, an act he’s fronted since 1999.

Jason Martz Guitar Instruction

| Jason has been playing guitar for about
22 years. He was in a signed metal band when he lived in Utah called Wicked Innocence and another band called downthesun in Missouri. He is currently in 2 bands locally: East A.M. and an acoustic duo named Evory. He has toured all over the West and Midwest part of the United States as well as Mexico.
Jason has about a year of teaching experience with Accent Music, and teaches theory, techniques, many different genres, and composition to almost any age and any skill level. He charges $22.00 per 1/2 hour lesson. Payments are taken 4 lesson blocks in advance, payed monthly. |

Chuck Knott Guitar, Mandolin, and Harmonica Instruction

| Chuck has been teaching professionally for about 18 years. He studied 5 years of piano instruction and 2 years of theory and composition at the University of West Haven. He has 35 years of live performance experience that includes rhythm, lead, and acoustic guitar for 3 different rock bands, and singing lead for 4 different bands.
Chuck teaches all beginner to intermediate guitar students, beginner mandolin, and beginner harmonica. His age requirement for lessons is 8 years old.
Chuck charges $25.00 per 1/2 hour lesson and is taken 4 lesson blocks in advance, payed monthly.

| Tom Taylor has 17 years of teaching experience and 10 years of private study experience. He has been performing live for 15 years and is presently working on his 2nd CD with Atlantic Record producer David Ivory. He has no age limit, and teaches all beginner to intermediate skill levels. |

| Sam Stipo has been teaching guitar for over 30 years. He has had private guitar instruction from 6 different teachers, and has studied lots of styles such as Rock and Jazz. Sam has played in many local area bands in local clubs throughout the tri-state are. He has recording experience in New York and Philadelphia. His age requirement is 12 years or older, and he teaches all levels from beginner to advanced. |

 Brad McCracken has over 3 years of private instruction and has been teaching for over 5 years at Accent Music. He has played guitar for 14 years, over 4 of which he was in a local Classic Rock band that have played resort areas throughout the East Coast, from Delaware to Florida.
He will teach anyone 7 years or older, and beginner to intermediate skill levels. Payment is $25.00 per 1/2 hour lesson, taken in 4 lesson blocks in advance, payed monthly. |

Mario Padovani Guitar/Piano/Vocal Instructor

 Mario Padovani brings 27 years experience as a professional musician to his role as a music teacher. He has studied voice, theory, harmony and composition with Henry Kerr Williams, former conductor of the Valley Forge Symphony, the Delaware Valley Philharmonic and the Kansas City Philharmonic. He has also studied voice under Jacqueline Beach Falcon (Wilmington Music School) and Dr. Melanie DeMent (University of Delaware). He has studied jazz arranging and composition under John Dougherty of Las Vegas. He released his debut CD, "A Letter to Your Heart" on Matchbox Recordings, Ltd. in the United Kingdom in 2004 as well as a single, "My Beautiful Bird (for Robin),” featuring David Ragsdale of KANSAS on violin in 2005. He is currently working on the soundtrack for the film "A Sicilian Tale" to be released in December 2008. The film is being directed by Frank Lisi and stars Joe Polito, Ealine del Valle (Donnie Brasco, The Sopranos), Sal Darigo (Invincible, The Sopranos) and Vinnie Vella (Casino, Analyze That). He is currently recording his second CD for release in early 2009. |
