Paul Michael Pennell is a teacher
who has roots in the Delaware
community. A graduate of graduate of Salesianum High School and Goldey-Beacom, Paul has
over 42 years experience as a guitarist. Starting as a pupil of the late Mr. Al Teoli, Paul thrived
and began teaching guitar at the young age of 16. He is well-versed in the Mel Bey, Berklee and
Hal Leonard guitar and theory methods.
Paul's father had a large impact on his life and was both a
world class musician (The Dorsey Brothers and Glen Miller during World War II)
and a police officer. Paul followed his
father's footsteps and became a police officer in Wilmington, DE,
during which time he wrote the "Stranger Danger" program song that
became the basis of the National "Stranger Danger Program still in use
today.
In addition to composing and arranging, Paul has played live
with his band "Castle" in the Tri-State area, and worked as a studio
musician in Philadelphia, as well as playing
festivals, conventions and venues across the United States.
His first solo CD "Like My Dad" was released by
Shark Tooth Records in 2002. Paul
continues to perform with The Thin Blue Line, a high energy Acoustic Rock trio
and teaches both acoustic and electric guitar at Accent Music's Concord Pike
location.
He is a member of ASCAP and charges $25/half hour payable monthly.
