A revolutionary concept in harmonica design. The Lee Oskar harmonica has special tuning modes that allow a much greater range of musical expression. The stainless steel covers are engineered to maximize projection and tone. The comb is plastic to prevent swelling and produces a louder, brighter sound. The chambers are wide with narrower dividers to enhance the ease and speed of playing. The reed plates feature "equal tuning" where notes are tuned by equal octaves - excellent for lead single-note playing. Plates are recessed into the comb to prevent slippage and eliminate air leaks. Tuned to A441+ for a brighter sound.
The traditional Blues Harmonica tuning. The Major-tuned harp, produced by several manufacturers and known by various names, is the most commonly used harmonica. This tuning has been used for generations to play Blues, Rock, Country, and Jazz. It is necessary to know how to bend in the cross harp position in order to obtain several notes that are "missing" on a Major harp. Bending creates an expressive, bluesy sound and is achieved by using a certain amount of air pressure, adjustment of the oral/throat cavity shape and tongue positioning.
